Exploring the Karmic Color Wheel

We have been asked whether we could explore the issues facing Ferguson, MO and Mike Brown. Throughout the development of the issue, all of us felt that we are not competent enough to write an exposition on this topic, so we held off on it. Well, we have found a learned contributor who will present a series of articles on the topic. They will remain under the pseudonym Isho Brown. Here is an abstract of their impending study.

Stay curious,

The recent events in Ferguson have had me thinking about what it means to pull the race card. “Pulling the race card” is when in a debate or predicament, one party accuses the other of opposing, or in some cases oppressing, due to a bias of some kind, whether it be conscious or unconscious.

Hypothetical: a young man of Indian descent is asked to help fix a computer by someone that is not of Indian descent, this can be seen as pulling the race card. The man of non-Indian descent could have had no knowledge of the stereotype of Indians being good with computers when asking the Indian man or he very well could have been compelled to on the grounds of this stereotype.

However, even so, is it appropriate to immediately jump to conclusions? In United States law, the prosecutor bears the burden of evidence. Is this rule applicable in a social setting? Before accusing one of being racist or acting out of racism, he/she should look for a reasonable doubt.
